When can I wash my face after eyebrow tattoo?
EYEBROW AFTERCARE – Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 7 days after your procedure. Please wash your face carefully around the eyebrow without getting water on the treated area. During the shower, keep your face away from the shower head or take a bath.
- Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post procedure;
- Avoid picking or scratching as it can pull off scabs prematurely and cause patchy results or scarring;
- However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear;
After 4 days, make sure your hands are completely clean and gently apply the post-care ointment with a cotton swab and clean hands. This can be done twice a day, at night time and morning time, but be sure to use the ointment sparingly as your skin needs to heal itself. The following must be avoided during all 14 days post procedure :
- Increased sweating
- Practicing sports
- Swimming
- Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi
- Sun tanning or salon tanning
- Exposure to UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading
- Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the treatment area
- Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment
- Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris
- Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds
- Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles
- Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab
If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of the skin, please contact Microblading LA immediately, to discuss further instructions. Contact a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as the following: fever, redness at the site, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, elevated body temperature, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, and/or any green/yellow discharge that is foul in odor.
How long do eyebrow tattoos take to heal?
AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS: Proper aftercare is a very important aspect of the long term success, effectiveness, health, and overall satisfaction with your new eyebrow tattoos. It is very important to follow those instructions in order to achieve the best possible results from your permanent makeup procedure.
- Included here are general permanent makeup aftercare instructions that will help limit any infection or problems, and assure a healthy and successful healing as quickly as possible;
- AFTERCARE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PROCEDURE Immediately after your cosmetic eyebrow tattoo procedure, you will feel tingling and tenderness, and probably a bit of swelling in the tattoo area;
This is because the numbing cream/anesthetic used on your brows before applying the tattoo, will start to wear off and the newly exposed wound will begin the process of healing immediately. Also, it is highly likely that you will experience some skin sensitivity, redness and swelling for about 1-2 days.
You might consider an over the counter pain reliever to help you get through. During the initial healing period, make sure you give the eyebrows approximately two (2) weeks to heal and set, and limit any physical activity (like swimming or saunas) or exposure to direct sunlight that might cause premature fading.
All tattoos carry the inherent risk of infection and/or allergic reaction, if pain or tenderness persists for longer than a few days, consult your doctor immediately. HOW TO CLEAN You will be provided with an aftercare ointment (Aquaphor healing cream) Make sure to use it.
It is recommended that you use the ointment at all times during this healing process until scabbing is complete (approximately 2 weeks). To clean, simply take a q-tip and with it dry, wipe off the existing ointment that are on your brows, dampen another q-tip and with just a little bit of water and gently wipe clean.
Pat dry with a towel or tissue and reapply the ointment. This is done twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. For the first couple of days, be gentle cleaning the eyebrows making sure you’re not scrubbing it. Cleaning with just a little bit of water during the first week will suffice, after that, gentle cleanser or antibacterial soap to lightly clean will be okay to use.
- On average, 4-5 days after the initial appointment, your new eyebrow skin will start to harden and itch;
- On the 4th day, clean it off and let your eyebrows air out for about 2 hours;
- Once that time is up, more thorough cleaning can be done as far as cleaning a little better in between the hairs, but avoid scrubbing the brows, then continue with the ointment until it is completely scabbed and peeled off;
AFTER THE SCABBING IS COMPLETE Once the scabbing has completely peeled off, you can discontinue using the ointment. if you are unsure of when the scabbing is complete, use the ointment for 2 weeks after the procedure. You can return to your daily skincare routine with some exceptions.
- Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating properties in your facial cleanser on your brows, (around your eyebrows are okay);
- Be sure to use sunscreen on your brows if your daily moisturizer does not contain SPF;
- If your daily moisturizer contains retinol, anti-aging, skin brightening or lightening properties, please avoid use on your brows, around your eyebrows will be okay;
SWELLING AND/OR BRUISING: Swelling, redness, skin sensitivity, and some minor bruising are normal side effects to the eyebrow tattoo procedure but they shouldn’t last longer than a day or two. How easily a person swells and bruises depends on factors such as their age, skin type, and circulation.
Swelling and bruising may disperse into a larger surface areas of the face, like the forehead. On average, cosmetic tattoo eyebrows are least affected by swelling or bruising (compared to eyeliner, and lips) and should have very minimal issue if at all.
If swelling or bruising persists for more than a few days, it may be a sign of infection, so be sure to contact your doctor right away. APPEARANCE: Be aware that the brand new ink from a fresh tattoo will most likely appear extremely dark and much thicker than expected, while others might seem exceedingly bright (ie; blondes and redheads), so don’t be surprised.
Usually after about a week or so, the area and top layer starts to scab and slough off in certain places. This process is called shedding. Comparatively, these sections may appear extremely light next to the non-shedded segments.
Don’t worry, this pigment will eventually soften and settle into the appropriate shade when shedding is complete and pigment resurfaces. In total, it should take about 3-4 weeks for your new eyebrow tattoo to shed completely and the pigment to resurface to its true color.
- DURING THE FIRST 2 WEEKS OF HEALING: The days following the procedure, as your skin heals, it may feel itchy;
- This is normal part of the process and a good sign that you are healing properly;
- You might feel tempted to soothe the eyebrows with cold products;
Although they won’t necessarily minimize any swelling, a cold compress (NOT frozen), or face cloths (not wet), lightly placed onto the eyebrows will help relieve the discomfort. Only do this for a day or so as repeated attempts to cool down the already traumatized tissue could actually increase the possibility of skin cell damage and infection.
Never apply pressure to your new tattoo, and be very careful not to rub, scratch, scrub, or exfoliate the new eyebrow tattoo area as this can cause premature pigment loss and/or scabbing. AVERAGE HEALING TIME AND PROCESS: Average healing time will vary from person to person and will depend on several physiological factors that include age, skin type, circulation, hormonal cycles, and how easily and/or severely you swell and bruise.
Generally, as with any type of skin trauma, older looser skin tends to take a bit longer than younger skin to heal. Other factors that may affect healing time include diet, excessive physical activity, exposure to direct sunlight, and any medications you might be taking.
- TOUCH-UP PROCEDURE: After approximately two (2) weeks, your eyebrows will have mostly healed during the “shedding” or “scabbing” process;
- As a result, the initial intensity and thickness will fade, and the desired color shade will start appearing after the first 3 weeks;
At about the 6-8 week mark, you should be scheduled to do your “touch up” procedure especially if you would like to make any changes to the shape of your brow, or fill in any areas needing correction or modification. During this “touch up” procedure, the eyebrow tattoo artist will go over your eyebrows again, exactly repeating the initial session.
- This repetition helps the tattoo last longer and encourages the ink to embed more permanently into the skin;
- For the next few weeks after your “touch up,” the aftercare from the initial appointment will be the same so be very careful not to wash your brows directly, and be very gentle with them;
Rubbing, scratching, or scrubbing them can, in fact, facilitate premature ink removal and cause scarring. If you love your new brow shape, don’t touch them until they have healed and set! Lastly, your follow up appointment will be free of charge. Depending on how well you follow these aftercare recommendations, and how fast the semi-permanent ink fades, you shouldn’t have to make another appointment (to color sharpen) for another 1-2 years (depending on color).
If an additional touch up is required, please discuss this with me. DISCLAIMER: Any operations such as botox, facial laser treatments or chemical peels will affect the pigment from the procedure and the overall appearance.
Please notify your physician prior to performing those services..
Can you wash eyebrows after tattoo?
AFTERCARE FOR EYEBROWS – Please note, your tattooist will advise you on which method is most appropriate for you to follow. It will depend on your skin type and the treatment method as to which aftercare method you should follow. For ALL eyebrow tattoo treatments, ensure you avoid all of the things listed below.
Initial aftercare – directly after the treatment Method 1 • You will be given an aftercare kit with cotton pads/water wipes and aftercare ointment. • As soon as you arrive home, please wash your eyebrows gently with cotton pads and water.
Wipe gently back and forth over the brows to remove any fluid (lymph) build up. • From the second day, don’t touch your eyebrows or expose to steam or water. Generally, don’t apply any aftercare ointment (unless brows are feeling very tight and crusted, in which case a VERY small fingernail sized amount can be applied once a day), do not pick at any resulting crust/scab.
It is important to leave any scab to fall off in its own time. Until the brows are smooth and the crusts have gone, do not wet them, touch them or expose them to any makeup, cream or ointment. • Once healed, you can use makeup and face wash etc, but please still avoid the items listed below under ‘What to avoid’ Method 2 • An aftercare pack will be given to you, which contains water wipes and aftercare ointment.
Use the wipes to wipe over the tattooed area every 15 – 20 minutes for the two hours , to avoid a crust forming. • A clear fluid will weep from the tattooed area, this is to be expected. For the first 1-2 hours, wipe the brows firmly in one direction, to remove this fluid and minimise scabbing • You will be given a very small tub of aftercare ointment – after the two hours of wiping the treatment area, use your clean finger to spread very, very thin layer of it over (use a fingernail sized amount) to sooth and protect.
The whole tub should last 2 weeks with half left at this point. Using too much is detrimental to the healing. • Apply the ointment once or twice a day – if your skin (t-zone) is very oily, do not apply it at night.
• Tepid showers are ok but don’t soak the brows or get any shampoo, soap or cleanser on the area for 7 days (use a flannel to wash your face) – this could be detrimental to the bonding process that must take place for the pigment to stabilize in the skin What to avoid after Eyebrow Tattoo – Day 0 – 14 • MOST IMPORTANTLY – do not pick at the brows.
Skin may shed, resist the urge to pick, apply a small amount of aftercare ointment to smooth them down. Picking will remove pigment before it has settled. • Avoid blood thinners i. Aspirin, Nurofen for 24 hours after and excessive intake of alcohol or caffeine, as this can hinder healing • For first week, avoid heavy exercise that will induce sweating and saunas, spas, hot baths etc.
• Avoid touching your brows with unclean hands/fingers – try to leave them alone • Avoid swimming, spas or saunas for 2 weeks, as this can draw the pigment out of the skin • Don’t apply any makeup/creams/serums on/over the freshly tattooed area until healed (i.
foundation around the brows is fine with a 2mm gap, but using an eyebrow pencil over them or rubbing moisturizer into them is not) • Avoid cleansers, moisturizers, serums, soaps or makeup of any kind over the area (except for any in after care kit) • Avoid strong/rejuvenating skin ingredients such as retin A, glycolic acid, masks, peels or any invasive skin treatments i.
facial laser, skin needling. • Avoid sunscreen or moisturisers on the area at this stage; however, be very careful of the sun and avoid exposure to strong UV i. solariums • Don’t tint or dye your brows, have brow lamination or waxing/threading done until brows are totally healed.
Avoid long term • Avoid aggressive/rejuvenating/exfoliating treatments directly on the tattooed area – i. peels, laser, microdermabrasion, glycolic acids (just avoid the eyebrows, can be used but with care) • Avoid UV exposure especially facial tanning, use a sunscreen over the brows – once healed, they can fade fast if exposed to lots of UV rays.
• Avoid exfoliating the area too much – exfoliation = skin renewal = faster fading. Just wash your brows gently. • Avoid regular brow tinting – the peroxide in the solution will fade your tattoo more quickly. Henna is a better option if you are trying to darken grey/blonde brow hairs – it is much gentler.
How do I keep my eyebrow tattoo from fading?
What happens if I get my eyebrow tattoo wet?
What Water Does to Microblading Pigment – If you’ve spent hundreds of dollars on microblading, then it just makes sense to make sure that you do whatever it takes to keep them looking pristine and beautiful! It always surprises me that women who get their brows done are constantly trying to push the line on what they should or shouldn’t do.
- Don’t fall into this category! The rules that exist for microblading are there to make sure that YOU get the best result possible;
- I want your brows to be beautiful (and I’m sure your artist does as well!);
But I totally get it if you want to know why we make these recommendations. So on that topic, let’s discuss at least a little bit what happens to your brows if they get wet. Because microblading is a semi-permanent technique, the pigment used in this procedure doesn’t go as deep as your dermis (the depth that tattoo artists go).
What does that mean for you? It means that the pigment (the colouring) is not very deep in your skin, and it is subject to being ‘pushed’ out by various sources. This means that it is literally possible for your ink to ‘fall’ out of the wells that were created by your microblading artist! What things make them fall out? You guessed it… water.
Well, not specifically water, but water is certainly a big culprit. Any liquid placed directly on the healing microblading area increases your risk of losing your pigment. If you lose your pigment, then the ENTIRE procedure may have to be re-done. And trust me, doing one extra workout is not worth another couple hour appointment and the use of a small microblade to get your brows looking good! For this reason, me (and other artists) are very anal when it comes to making sure that you do NOT get your brows wet.
Should I put Vaseline on my eyebrow tattoo?
– The first 24 hours after getting a tattoo are critical to your aftercare. Your tattoo artist may advise that you wear special bandages for added protection. After a few days, you may be able to safely take showers, but you’ll still need to avoid submerging the tattoo in water when bathing.
While your tattoo is bandaged, this may allow for a very small window for using Vaseline too, since your tattoo is already covered. However, you’ll want to verify this with your tattoo artist first. Generally, there’s no need for Vaseline on a new tattoo whatsoever.
Once your bandages are off, you’ll want to stay away from Vaseline during the healing process, too. You may be able to use Vaseline on a newer tattoo only after it’s completely healed. The only use for petroleum jelly on your tattoo is for extremely dry skin around the area.
Can I drink coffee after eyebrow tattoo?
AFTER-CARE – Below is a important list to follow. This will insure the best possible healed results! Please note, failing to follow directions can cause undesirable healed result such as blurring , scarring, and failed color retention. – Avoid any contact/rubbing with eyebrows.
Keep eyebrow area clean for the one week. No water/ sweat/ dust should have contact with your eyebrows. Treat it as you would a wound to avoid infections. – Use fresh clean pillow case. -Apply Vaseline with Q-tip to cover eyebrows when washing your hair, then remove with cotton ball/pad immediately after.
-If area gets wet, pat it down with a cotton ball/pad or lint free tissue. – Avoid makeup around eyebrows for one week. Please clean face makeup with wet wipe to avoid splashing water or soap onto eyebrows. -Avoid getting lash extensions or eyelash lift & tint for one week after.
- -Avoid touching / peeling / scratching eyebrows for one week after;
- -Avoid dust/sand/airborne debris for one week after; avoid heavy house hold cleaning , beach, open car window, motorcycles, biking, hiking;
etc -Avoid Alcohol, Soft drinks, Coffee, Tea, Chocolate or any Caffeinated drinks or foods 48 hours after procedure. -Avoid aspirin/ ibuprofen / niacin / fish oil /vitamin 48 hours after. -Avoid any sweating, working out and water for one week; steam rooms/ gym/ hot bath/ saunas/ hot yoga/ pool etc.
- -Avoid waxing / tweezing / bleaching/ threading and tinting one week after procedure;
- -Avoid Retinol/ Retin A (Do not use at least 30 days after procedure) -Injections must be done two weeks after procedure;
-Suntanning must be avoided 30 days after procedure. -Chemical peels/ laser treatments must be done 60 days after procedure. -Avoid any facial products that contain any acids/chemicals /whitening agents 20 days after procedure..
Do eyebrows scab after touch up?
What Happens After the Treatment? – You might not like your eyebrows immediately after the first procedure. It takes some time for the swelling to disappear. Also, your brows might appear too dark at first. That is why you need to go through the healing period.
Healing period requires thorough aftercare. You will also be given instructions to follow in order to get better results. Your eyebrows will start to fade and scabs will also appear. You should strictly avoid removing scabs on your own or touching your brows.
In addition, avoid washing the area, swimming pools, as well as the exposure to the sun.
Why did my eyebrow tattoo peel off?
DAY 3-5 Your brows may be beginning to flake/shed and itch! – These are all expected signs of healing. Do not pick or peel minor scabs prematurely, instead allow them to come away naturally. You may notice some colour on the cotton round when you clean your brows, this is also normal.
As the skin heals, the excess pigment is pushed out as it naturally exfoliates itself. You will also experience some itchiness during this time. As much as the urge to scratch calls to you, refrain from scratching as this can lead to infection and a patchy healed result.
Some tips to help soothe the itch – use a clean tissue and press carefully but firmly on the area or use a cotton tip to lightly massage away the itch. Some peeling may occur and your brows may look patchy at this stage.
When should I put cream on my eyebrow tattoo?
There is no after pain, only a slight tenderness around the treated area. The following is recommended to avoid infection and/or scarring. Use aftercare cream 1-2 times a day until initial scab sheds.
How do I protect my eyebrows in the shower?
What to Expect During the Healing –
Copyright © Boulder Brows
- Let the area breathe! Do not cover the treated area with any kind of occlusive barrier (like cellophane), makeup, or any kind of ointment/cream.
- Blot the treated area with a saline-dampened paper towel three times a day until scabs start to form.
- Do not ice the treated area!
- Avoid getting soaps, shampoos/conditioners or other cleansers on the treated area.
- DO NOT wash the treated area as long as you have any visible scabs for up to 2 weeks. Water will draw the pigment out of the strokes, or cause scabs to soften and lift off too soon resulting in patchiness of the healed tattoo. For removal done on the face: When showering, lather your hair slowly, then cup your hands over your forehead to prevent water from spraying onto your face.
- Do not put your face into the shower stream;
- Do not wash your face in the shower, but rather wash your face in front of a mirror to be sure you are avoiding the treatment area completely;
- It’s safe to gently wash the area 2 weeks post-procedure to remove any buildup;
If you still have a few scabs that are clearly still attached, do not intentionally try to remove them. Allow them to fall off naturally, and continue to wash the area gently everyday until they do.
- Do not pick, scratch, or rub any skin flakes or scabs. Allow them to fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring as well as decreasing the efficacy of the procedure.
- Once all the scabs have fallen off naturally (roughly 7-10 days), apply the Vitamin E Oil 3-4 times a day for a minimum of 4 weeks.
- Avoid any activities or exercising that causes heavy sweating until all the scabs have fallen off. So no hot yoga, hot tubs, long showers, baths, steam rooms, saunas, or heavy cardio.
Click here to see photos of Saline Tattoo Removal cases to make sure you’re on track and healing normally. SIGNS OF INFECTION: 1) Expanding redness around the treated area 3 or more days post-procedure, 2) Red streaking spreading from the wound 3 or more days post-procedure, 3) Increased swelling, tenderness, or pain around the area 3 or more days post-procedure, 4) Yellow or greenish pus or cloudy wound drainage, 5) Fever at any point during the following 2 weeks post-procedure If you experience any of the above symptoms, please contact your doctor or seek medical care immediately.
- DO NOT wet brows for the first 24 hours. This includes sweat, steam, sun beds, swimming, and saunas.
- Brush brows daily into desired shape when wet. (DO NOT towel dry brows)
- Day 2-14 condition daily with hair conditioner in the shower. (Rinse off after)
- Week 3 and onward oil every evening before bed with castor oil (provided) or a brow nourishing oil and wash off in the morning with shampoo or facial cleanser.
- Remove any and all makeup gently with an oil based makeup remover.
- Always brush brows softly to not cause any damage to the hair.
- DO NOT wet lashes for the first 24-48 hours, this includes sweat and steam.
- Do not sleep on them for the first night as lashes are still vulnerable to movement.
- Mascara and lash serums may be applied to lashes after 24-48 hours to enhance results.
- Avoid using oils or products that contain oils directly on the treated area. This can cause the color to fade more quickly.
- If you decide to wear makeup on the treated area, the removal of that makeup can cause the color to fade more quickly.

Is tattooing your eyebrows a good idea?
Microblading vs Eyebrow Tattooing – When considering which is best for you, it’s helpful to understand the differences between these two eyebrow-enhancing techniques. Permanent vs Impermanent For most people, the most significant difference between microblading and eyebrow tattoos is the longevity of the results each provides.
- Eyebrow tattoos are permanent;
- Once the ink is tattooed onto the skin it is there for life (although undesirable fading of the ink as mentioned above is possible);
- Once you have an eyebrow tattoo, it’s forever unless removed via tattoo removal treatments;
This is very different from microblading, where the results typically last about 6 months to a year. Because the pigment doesn’t go as deep, it fades as your skin cells naturally turn over. Simple “touch up” treatments can be done annually if the microblading patient wishes to maintain their enhanced brow.
The semi-permanent nature of microblading allows patients the ability to change the appearance of their brow as trends and styles change. Microblade Pigment vs Tattoo Ink Microblading pigments come in organic or inorganic varieties, in a range of several colors.
As microblading ink slowly fades it does get lighter, but the tone stays the same. Microblading pigment is specifically designed to fade into a lighter version of the color used so the patient retains a natural appearance. Thus, the result maintains a natural appearance until it fully fades away.
Tattoo ink is used for eyebrow tattooing while microblading uses a specialized pigment. Ink differs greatly from pigment in the way it fades over time. As tattoo ink fades, it often develops a blue-green colored tint, especially around the edges of the tattoo.

Black tattoo ink is notorious for turning blue or green, as the red pigments that keep it dark fade faster. This can leave people with some oddly colored eyebrows that often look as though they were created with a Sharpie. This can result in very unnatural looking brows.
Blading vs Needling Microblading is done with a hand tool which cuts only into the uppermost layer of the skin. This is not only far less painful than tattooing, but causes less damage to the skin and results in a quicker recovery process.
Also, less pigment is needed, which prevents color from ‘bleeding’ into adjacent skin cells. Tattooing is done with a machine, which penetrates more deeply into the skin. This makes tattoos generally more painful than microblading. The depth of the punctures encourages the use of more ink than needed, which causes color to ‘bleed’ into the surrounding area.
- Recovery time is also longer, as your skin will need to heal from the injury caused by the deep needle punctures;
- Fine Lines vs Filled Brows Trained microblading artists are skilled at hand-drawing fine lines which mimic the natural look and shape of each individual eyebrow hair;
These lines blend in with your natural eyebrows to create a look that’s often indistinguishable from the real thing. Even the most well-trained tattoo artists find it difficult to achieve the fine lines of microblading with a tattoo needle. Tattooing simply doesn’t lend itself to the same precise technique.
- Tattooed brows tend to have more of a solid look, and appear as brow filler more so than your natural brow;
- Natural-looking Outcome Microblading creates a more natural end result compared to eyebrow tattooing, which results in brows that appear “drawn on” and flat;
This is because the microblading technique creates individual hair-like strokes that are identical to hair growth pattern of the surrounding eyebrow hair. A good microblading technician can make treated areas look like a more dense version of the natural brow hair.
Pain Getting a tattoo can be relatively painful, especially if they are placed in a sensitive area like the face. The microblading technique involves much less discomfort, especially if the brow area is numbed with lidocaine prior to treatment.
Most patients describe the feeling of microblading to be similar to tweezing.
Which is better eyebrow tattoo or microblading?
NATURAL-LOOKING OUTCOME – Microblading creates a more natural result compared to eyebrow tattooing, which results in brows that appear “drawn on” and flat. This is because the microblading technique creates individual hair-like strokes that are identical to the hair growth pattern of the surrounding eyebrow hair.
An excellent microblading technician can make treated areas look like a more dense version of the natural brow hair. A regular eyebrow Cosmetic tattoo service lasts a lifetime, but with microblading, ink is not placed as deep underneath the skin.
This means that as your skin naturally cycles through, the ink eventually rises to the surface or moves around underneath the skin as to appear lighter. Over time, the ink will fade significantly compared to an eyebrow tattoo. Depending on your skin, it may eventually disappear. .

Tina Davies Aftercare For Other Wounds From Anita Del Ciotto Abramo – Cosmetic Tattooing Ottawa “I wanted to share something with you all that I think is freaking amazing. My youngest daughter Jasmina developed a contact dermatitis on her eyelids. I tried a few things but nothing worked really and they remained itchy. As a mom you know how helpless you feel when you can’t figure out what’s going wrong with your cubs. I went out to the pharmacy and got 1% cortisone and tried that.
but then I decided to just try something else. I was with a colleague over the weekend and she told me that one of her employees had a cold sore and had forgotten to bring her medication so she applied Tina Davies aftercare on it and in one day it was gone (Ciara Ramsden).
Below are the results on my daughter were less the 24 hrs! I couldn’t believe it!!! I only applied a few times and the next morning there was no redness in sight and her eyelids were no longer inflamed. I’ll be buying a case from now on. ” From Terry Lively – House of Art Permanent Makeup & Tattooing “I used it to heal my fibroblast treatment I had done in New York. I loved it. Cooling and soothing. Reminded me of applying aloe vera gel to a sunburn when I was young, but without the stickiness.
Can I wash my eyebrows after 14 days of microblading?
Microblading Aftercare: 1 Day Following Appointment Absorb Excess Fluid. For the first few hours after your microblading appointment, gently blot the treated area with clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this until oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents buildup and scabbing.
Microblading Aftercare: 2-10 Days Following Appointment Wash Eyebrows. For about 2 to 10 days following your microblading service , make sure to wash your eyebrows gently (patting motion, not rubbing) each morning and night with water and an antibacterial soap such as Dial or a Cetaphil Cleanser. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows.
Cleanse the area in a smooth motion for about 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. Gently pat to dry, with a clean tissue. Do NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any exfoliants.
Do NOT allow your brows to get wet outside of gently washing them twice a day. Microblading Aftercare: 3-10 Following Appointment Moisturize Microbladed Area. Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay the healing process. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Never put the ointment on while your eyebrows are wet or damp.
- Apply your healing balm according to your esthetician’s advice;
- If you have excessively oily skin, you may not need to use healing balm at all;
- For those with dry skin, balm can be used up to 2-3 times a day;
Experience has shown that by following the after-care instructions above, side effects may quickly disappear. Remember, AWM – Absorb, Wash, Moisturize and you should be covered. Please follow the microblading aftercare instructions listed above for 10-14 days following your service with Gameela Skin to improve and prolong the results of your brows.
- If you experience ANY unexpected problems or side effects with the healing of the skin following your microblading appointment, please contact our esthetician Nancy Ham immediately to discuss further instructions;
Nancy can be reached on her cell phone: 909-638-6364 or by email: info@gameelaskin. com.
When can I shower normally after microblading?
Preparing Your Brows Before you have your brows done, you will want to avoid anything that causes the blood to thin. Ibuprofen, aspirin or caffeine are the most common everyday blood thinners, so you’ll want to make sure you do not consume those 24 hours before your session.
- Take a shower and wash your hair before you come in;
- You should not shower for the first 48 hours after your procedure to prevent any loss of pigment or complications in the healing process;
- Remove ALL of your makeup;
Before your procedure, you will want a clean and fresh face so your artist can see the natural shape and color of your brows and skin. Clean up your brows as much as possible. Whether you thread, wax, or pluck remove as many stray hairs as you can. Post-Microblading Care
- Avoid activities that will cause heavy sweating also try to keep makeup away from the area.
- Do not use any soaps or face products (especially anything with glycolic acid or retinol) other than your aftercare cream.
- Always make sure your hands are clean before applying your aftercare cream.
- You should also use a Q-tip instead of bare fingers to dress your brows.
- The most important thing to remember is NO WATER on your brows for the first 7 days after your appointment.
- Take advantage of your favorite bath bombs this week.
- Instead of ducking around your shower-head, baths are a good option as long as the water isn’t too hot (heavy steam is also a no-no)
- Avoid spray or bed tanning.
More Care Tips
