How Much Is A Piercing At A Tattoo Shop?

How Much Is A Piercing At A Tattoo Shop

Low: $20-$55 for earlobes Medium: $30-$85 for most other areas
The cost of a body piercing varies depending on the location of the body being pierced, the type of piercing and the individual piercer. Typical costs:
  • A body piercing typically costs $20 to $55 for earlobes, ear cartilage or cheek.
  • A body piecing typically costs $30 to $65 for the eyebrow, nose, navel or nipple.
  • A body piercing typically costs $40 to $85 or more for a medusa (a piercing above the lip), the tongue web or the surface of the body, such as at the nape of the neck.
  • Body piercings are considered cosmetic and are not covered by medical insurance. However, treatment for complications from a piercing, such as infection, would usually be covered.

What should be included:
  • The piercing artist will disinfect the area, then use a hollow needle to pierce the skin — or cartilage — and then insert the body jewelry. The piercer should provide detailed aftercare instructions based on the type of piercing.

Additional costs:

  • Piercing costs usually include basic body jewelry, but jewelry upgrades cost extra. The body jewelry used should be made of implant-grade materials.

Discounts:

  • Some piercers offer discounts for multiple piercings, repeat customers or groups.

Shopping for body piercings:

  • Make sure the piercing studio you choose is licensed by your local health department and follows meticulous health standards — including the use of a properly functioning autoclave machine for sterilization, use of gloves and only using equipment from individual sterilized and sealed packages. They also should never use a piercing gun, since these cannot be properly sterilized. The Association of Professional Piercers offers a detailed guide on how to choose a reputable piercer and a search-by-state function.
  • Tip: Once you have located a studio, ask how long the piercer has been practicing and ask to see before-and-after photographs of previous work.
  • Body piercing risks include: blood-borne diseases, such as hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis and HIV; allergic reactions, skin infections and scars or keloids, which are bumpy areas caused by a build-up of scar tissue. Oral piercings can cause dental problems, such as damage to gum tissue or cracked teeth.

I actually got them done in 2 different places. Ear Lobe I got it done for 10 dollars only on both sides. They used a gun on me. I clean them with rubbing alcohol, make sure to stay consistent because I got infected. The second piercing is helix but only on one side of the ear. Wasn’t painful at all just a tear using a needle and that’s about it.

After that, you get a throbbing sensation for like one day only. I got the helix done for 20 dollars. BE SURE TO GET YOUR HELIX PIERCING DONE BY A NEEDLE NOT A GUN. The area is very sensitive and the needle is the best choice.

Many of the places use a gun so I recommend if they use a gun don’t go there. Even if it’s cheaper. If they recommend a lotion or some kind of ointment to buy for your newly pierced ears, I don’t think it’s really necessary. Just buy some sea salt and stir it in water then place your ear in the water for approximately 10-15 mins.

My ear actually bled onto my shirt and it ended up ripping out the front hole after the 6 month healing time. But the rip didn’t hurt and the piercing didn’t hurt. I want to get it redone.

Got it done on Friday the 13th so it was like buy one piercing get the other free (aka both nipples for the price of one $40). Worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I actually passed out. The more stressed out you are, the worse it will hurt bc the adrenaline pumping. Try to relax yourself. They’re all healed up now and I absolutely love them! Worth it.

Ear lobe piercings at Claire’s normal priced normal quality for a Claire’s. Then an upper lobe piercing done at Walmart for their normal price. 2 helixs from the place I now regularly visit for $10 when the piercer was in training. A 3rd helix on my right ear for $20 when it was half priced. A nostril stud for $40. Then a ring for $40 and a 2nd ring for $40.

Just clean your ear 2x a time to avoid any infection. This area can get infected easily. Then I messed up went to a new place got a lip piercing for $43 that was crooked and had to take it out to get it redone in the near future.

These prices don’t include tips.

Piercing barely hurt, just pinched a bit, but then I almost fainted? lol. Had some healing complications involving lip growing over the backs, but that stopped once they completely healed almost a year later. Also developed what seems like a permanent boil / skin infection on left side. Tried different cleaning methods, nothing works.

Didn’t hurt, only thing was the surprise of the needle because I hate them. Didn’t heal very fast because my boyfriend liked to play with it with his tongue which kept causing infections. But it healed in about 7 months. I was 15 and my friend was there recording it.

The part that freaked me out the most was the clamp. I was prepared for the pain from the needle just didn’t factor in that there would a clamp pinching my skin. But I got over that quick when the needle pierced through, it was very painful, but didn’t last too long. The next part, when she pulled the jewelry through the hole, I wouldn’t exactly call painful just felt really weird.

give us a call 2156448900 you wont regret it. I took antibiotics for an illness, that’s the only time it ever vanished, then re-emerged with a vengeance once antibiotics left my system. I bled a lot which was another thing I wasn’t prepared for, so look out for that, but that doesn’t happen to all people.

Make sure you get aftercare instructions because I found those very helpful especially in keeping myself calm about it not being infected. The piercing so far has acted pretty normal, it’s had it ups and downs and is still healing, which is something I knew going in that it has the longest healing period.

The clamp was annoying so it took away concentration of the tiny sting of the needle. I had just turned 15 at the the time and I’ve had it for almost a year and it has healed fast and never given me any trouble. The only pain was when the piercer threaded the jewelry through. I plan to get dual microdermals in my hips next 😜😜

What is the cheapest piercing to get?

Ear piercing prices – Since single lobe piercings are quite rare , earlobe piercings are the one type of piercing that usually offers the second piercing free. (Don’t expect the same with any other piercing type. ) They are also usually the cheapest piercing to get, likely because they are so common.

How much does a piercing earring cost?

The Average Cost Of An Ear Piercing – With all the factors put together, the average cost of an earlobe piercing at a body piercing studio is about $20 to $50 with the jewelry. Some places may have deals on getting both earlobes pierced at the same time because this is such a common double piercing.

Piercing Type Piercing Cost
Earlobe (Single) $25-$50
Earlobe (Pair) $20-$50
Conch $30-$70
Daith $35-$70
Helix $30-$60
Forward Helix $30-$60
Industrial $45-$80
Orbital $45-$85
Rook $30-$60
Snug $30-$60
Tragus $30-$60

If you’d like to gauge (a. a stretch) your piercings, you have a couple of options. You can start with a smaller gauge of needle when you first get pierced. The smaller the gauge number, the larger the size of the piercing hole. Once your initial piercing is  fully healed , you can have a professional gauge your piercing for about $5 per stretch plus the cost of larger jewelry.

Standard cartilage piercings like a helix piercing will cost around the same as a lobe piercing. If you go for more complex ear cartilage piercings, like an orbital or industrial piercing, the price is a bit higher, more like $45 to $85 per piercing with the jewelry.

Alternatively, you can simply purchase stretching tools and jewelry and do it yourself at home. How Much Is A Piercing At A Tattoo Shop.

Why are piercings so expensive?

The prices are what they are. – Getting a piercing from a respectable, professional shop means shelling out some dough. Piercing shops charge what they do because doing something right isn’t cheap. Not only are they piercing you with sterilized equipment and using medical grade jewelry made of the right metals, but they are also doing it in a safe and clean environment with professionals trained in this field.

All of these things cost money. They are not trying to rip you off. Sometimes, people assume that piercing shops are overcharging, so they head to places with lower prices. These places can actually put you at risk for getting an infection or a misaligned piercing because they may use lower-quality jewelry, not know how to properly pierce, and/or not have sterilized equipment.

Beane explains that an earlobe piercing couldn’t be less than $40 to $45 if done at a right place, so keep that in mind.

How much do piercings hurt?

Therefore, it should not be surprising that it ranks low on the pain scale – the general rating seems to be 3/10. A standard lobe piercing can hurt for a moment or just feel like a pinch when the needle goes through.

How many piercings can I get at once?

It is not uncommon to have multiple piercings performed on the same day. We recommend not getting more than four piercings in one session, especially if you’re getting them on the same ear. Getting multiple piercings can also cause increased swelling during healing and can prolong healing time.

Does piercing your gun hurt?

We Don’t All Have “Standard” Size Earlobes – Piercing guns use stud earrings of a standard length. People with thick earlobes may find that their new earrings are tight when lobes swell after piercing. They will have little to no post length to use for expansion to relieve the pressure.

  1. A professional body piercer has access to many styles of initial jewelry that won’t inhibit comfort or the healing process;
  2. Piercing Guns Cause Blunt Force Trauma to Earlobes Most guns force blunt-ended studs through the tissue of your ears, a painful process that can cause damage;

The shock isn’t typically a huge issue for the lobes, but why risk it? A piercing professional will pierce you with razor-sharp hollow needles that pierce through areas quickly without damaging the surrounding tissue. This process is usually less painful than using a piercing gun.

What is a sleeper earring?

What is a sleeper earring? – Sleeper earrings, also frequently called starter earrings, are created to be worn by people who have had their ears pierced for the first time. They are named as such because they must be worn around the clock, which includes during sleeping time.

Do you tip piercers?

If your piercer did a good job, show your appreciation with a healthy tip. A minimum of 20% is typically expected nowadays (inflation sucks, but it is what it is), and more if your piercer did an exceptional job.

Can I bring my own piercing?

Can you bring your own earrings to chain store? – If you choose to have your ears pierced in chain store, you can’t bring your own earrings. The professional piercer will use ear piercing gun and healing earrings. It automatically includes the price of the healing earring in the piercing procedure.

Of course, this means that the concerned earring meets the conditions of composition, structure and hygiene standards previously mentioned. Also, the latter can still be chosen from the company’s product range.

Therefore, you will not be able to bring your own earrings if you pierce ears at Claire’s or Pagoda. Don’t worry, piercings at Claire’s as especially cheep. The problem is not the price but the fact that you will have a reduced choice regarding your starting earring. .
